Microsoft is opening up its AI to smaller businesses too. Copilot, previously reserved for large companies and corporates, is now available if you have Microsoft 365 Business Standard or Premium. The tool works much like ChatGPT — but inside the Microsoft ecosystem.

What can it be used for?

1.      Content creation — like most AI assistants, Copilot can produce marketing content, build presentations, and reply to emails.

2.      Helping employees — whether that's repetitive tasks like writing reports, editing and proofing text, or onboarding new hires. With its simple UI and familiar surroundings, it's a solid sidekick for anyone already comfortable in Microsoft apps.

3.      Customer support — probably the main reason to bring Copilot in. It handles customer questions well most of the time. That doesn't mean you should skip reviewing its replies — but it does mean you don't have to write them from scratch.

What to expect from it?

To be straight: it probably won't directly move your sales numbers, but it will make life noticeably easier. Copilot costs $30/month or $300/year per user. Bottom line — not for everyone, but definitely not money down the drain.
