20 years in IT. 200+ clients. 7-year average partnership.
Out of a Czech Foreign Ministry contract grew a company that understands businesses. Roman Krutina, Lenka Krutinová and a team of eight.
A rejected proposal that became a company.
Roman Krutina started his career on the help desk of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs after graduating from CULS in systems engineering and IT. For the Czech EU Council Presidency he proposed a BlackBerry-based mobile solution — secure, remotely manageable, revolutionary at the time.
Leadership rejected it as "impractical." Roman quit, registered as a sole trader, and entered the same tender as his own company. He won.
That's how ICT-GROUP began. For fifteen years we delivered to the Foreign Ministry — quietly, audit by audit, project by project. When the ministry began bringing IT in-house, we faced a choice: fight for a lost contract, or pivot to a market segment where our discipline and processes earn their keep.
We chose the latter. Today we run two parallel streams: SMBs (5–500 users), where our zero-touch automation removes the need for an in-house engineer, and discreet second opinions for enterprises who suspect their existing IT isn't right but don't want to make it political.
22 years can't be photographed. Here's the skeleton.
Roman Krutina founds the company after winning the Foreign Ministry tender he had left as an employee a year earlier.
Mobile secure solution on BlackBerry for diplomatic operations. The reference that opened further government contracts.
Fifteen years of stable partnership. Audits, certifications, a flawless operations track record.
As the ministry brings IT in-house, ICT-GROUP shifts to the commercial market. First productized services for small and mid-size businesses.
Launch of the flagship product — fully managed M365 stack with zero on-site engineering. Microsoft Solutions Partner status.
PRO+ tier ready for NIS2 compliance. Eight in-house AI "co-workers" (Chuck, Yoda, Neo and others) running 24/7 monitoring and log analysis.
Two hundred active clients, average 7-year partnership. Occasionally we end relationships ourselves when we feel it isn't a fit — better to part on good terms than struggle on.
Four principles we build the stack on.
Automation beats user training
Patches, backups, monitoring and password rotation must run themselves. Relying on users to be careful is a losing strategy. Our architecture is built on the principle that mistakes shouldn't be fixed in a hurry — they shouldn't happen by design.
Predictable pricing, not hourly billing
Monthly flat fee per user. No nickel-and-diming, no stress over billing every minute. The client knows what they pay, we know what we get. A balanced relationship from day one.
No salesperson, no fluff
Free 5-minute audit before any business conversation. Pricing visible to anyone without a form. If you don't come back after the audit, fine — you have a report and we have a clean conscience.
People aren't the problem. Architecture is.
"The biggest security problem remains people. Training helps but isn't a cure-all. IT should enable people to work safely and comfortably." — Roman Krutina on Martin Hurych's podcast (episode 046)
