- Passwords: use a different password for each service, complexity at least 9+ characters. Don't go crazy with frequent forced changes.
- Where to keep passwords? Use a password manager.
- Use multi-factor sign-in everywhere it's available. For anyone unsure what that is — it's similar to signing into your bank: an app or SMS.
- Back up using the 3-2-1 rule: 3 copies of the data, the backup on 2 storage locations, 1 copy off-site, and have backups that resist a ransomware attack.
- Think hard about whether having RDP "exposed" to the internet is a good idea. The answer is unequivocal — it's a "big no".
